My Photography Exhibition
For my photography exhibition, I wanted to have three shows all conveying different feels, styles and colours. I wanted to show how the location of a photo can effect and manipulate it’s meaning into something new yet just as beautiful. My own photos were used, and I displayed the same six photos in different locations around my house. I left the photos up for my family to see, my exhibition was open to anyone. Some of my favourite photos that I had taken were selected and printed. The photos were all shot on a Canon EOS 650D at home. |
This display was my darkest one. I wanted to create rather high contrast here, so I placed the photos on my staircase and closed half of the curtains behind me to cast a shadow on one side of the photos. I shot this in black and white to emphasise the contrast in dark and light. I wanted to create quite a gritty feel with this display, so I placed it on the chipped wood part of my staircase. I left these photos up to be viewed as you walk down the stairs, they were at eye level whilst standing at the top of my staircase. I believe that the black and white and the placement of my photos create a rather eerie and empty feeling, as if they are situated in an abandoned building. |
