This is one of my favourite Bresson images as I love the juxtaposition of the foreground and background. I also really like how it is not perfect, it is slighly wonky and blurred, it looks handmade, rough yet meaningful. I really like images that are not clean cut or manufactured.
I believe that this photo was taken with the 'Decisive Moment' approach, as the majority of the people in the image appear unaware, the scene does not look interrupted or disturbed. Something else that that I have noticed about this image is the amount of blank space. I really think that this space and the black and grey tones in the foreground contrast but still create a balance. |
