Self portrait - This image was taken with a very low ISO on purpose, as my friend and I were messing around with some settings on my camera to see what we could create. I then edited it rather heavily to give it a grainy, film like effect. I changed the colour temperature as I love the look of heavy coloured lighting and believed that it worked well aesthetically with this image. I wanted it to look gritty and rough, as if you would feel a sandpaper like texture whilst reaching out to touch the image.
I have always loved capturing things and creating things from a young age, but about two ago I took up photography and filming as a hobby and I have really gotten into it. It is something that I do everyday now, when I see something I like the look of or something that I want to remember, I capture it. Editing is also something that I have a huge passion for, as it fascinates me how images can be changed and manipulated into something completely new. Editing also allows space for new, exciting creations to be made. I don't think that I will stop capturing now, as it has become such a huge part of me and what I do. I have taught myself everything that I know about photography and capturing up until this point, as I did not take it for GCSE and this is my first time studying photography as a subject. I have a huge passion for individual learning and experimentation, photography is something that I genuinely enjoy teaching myself about. Messing around with settings and really experimenting is also something that excites me, as it feels great to explore my ideas and create art that I am genuinely proud of.
